The Central Lee Community School District has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished District for the 2024–2027 years because all of its schools have achieved Apple Distinguished School status. This distinction highlights the district's commitment to integrating technology into education, supporting staff, and fostering innovation to enhance teaching and learning. Superintendent Dr. Andy Crozier and Curriculum Director Angie Fransk credit this honor to the district's focus on creating technology-rich environments that inspire and improve education for all students.

Jericho Superintendent Hank Grishman Retires after Thirty Years on the Job

Superintendent Hank Grishman announced his retirement during a Monday morning orientation for several hundred staff, aiming to give the board of education ample time to find a replacement. He also sent a letter to the district community explaining his decision while reflecting on his time in Jericho. Aristea Kakounis, a social studies teacher and vice president of the school's teachers union, praised his contributions, stating, "We might be losing him in the day-to-day, but everything he has established here will keep going." Jericho is the first school district on Long Island to start classes this year on the Wednesday before Labor Day.
